Two College Prepsters Meet THE College Prepster

Bonjour mes amis!

College. Oh man. That one word alone just makes me nervous and sad and stressed out! I have just completed my second month of college! A tiny feat, but nonetheless extremely tiring and anxiety filled.  I didn't think it would be so hard to balance a healthy social life, academics and extracurriculars.  I have never felt more at home, however.

I am more than excited to announce that I have finally met my favorite (and probably all of ours) blogger, Carly Heitlinger! My friend Ashley and I hopped on the T and walked our way from the Park Ave T station and headed to 66 Beacon Street to meet the one and only Carly.  The event was so graciously sponsored by Tucker Blair!

Carly was such a sweetheart! She was honestly so down to earth, which was obviously expected! She was so easy to talk to, and all of the girls (there were about 15 in the studio at the time we were there) were so nice! Everyone stood and talked to each other, all while donning their preppiest and classiest attire.  Many pairs of riding boots were present, and the the air had a very Blair Waldorf X Kiel James Patrick  feel to it!

Can You Go Down the Rhode for the Crown?

Bonjour mes amis!

ATTENTION: I AM CALLING ALL RHODE ISLAND GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN TO READ THIS REGARDING NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS PAGEANT! RHODE ISLAND NEEDS YOUR HELP BUT BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2014!!

So, as you all may know, I have a passion for pageants. So of course, when I hear a sister is needing some help recruiting, I will turn to my readers/followers for help.

If you haven't heard of National American Miss, it is a pageant system that is amazing. Simply amazing. It offers so many opportunities for young women, and there are so many new friends and connections one can make while competing. Take it from me.

So my lovely friend/advisor/go-to lady for everything, Alexandra (or as I refer to her, as Allie) Curtis (who you can ALL about HERE!), has asked me to recruit ALL young women in Rhode Island who would be interested in being a part of the Rhode Island National American Miss Family!

You can email Allie at adcurtis@syr.edu for any and ALL information regarding this AMAZING opportunity.

You can also go to the NAM Appointed site, here!

Allie knows a wicked lot about NAM, because she just so happens to be the National All-American Miss Teen 2010-2011!

PLEASE email her if you are interested! We need to have Rhode Island be represented!
xoxo Alex

Wicked Woman: Alexandra Curtis is Not the Case When it Comes to, "On land it's much preferred for ladies not to say a word"

Bonjour mes amis!

So I felt that it was neccessary to point out some influential women that I have met/grown close to.  The first Wicked Woman obviously goes to one of my sole inspirations, the one and only Miss Alexandra D. Curtis! Not only are we name twins (almost), Allie is phenomenal. I cannot believe that  I have been graced by her presence, never mind be able to call her a dear friend and a woman who truly motivates me to become the best version of myself I can be. Where do I begin?!

So I guess I should start when I met Allie. It was July 25th, 2013, and I was a little-known blogger going around Thames Street in Newport looking for blog sponsors. It happened to be my sister's birthday, and Jack Wills is her favorite store, so of course we went in.  I went to buy my passport  cover (I needed a new one since I was traveling to Italy in February 2014) and the woman at the register said she loved my bangles (I had like 15 Alex and Ani's on along with my Kiel James Patrick bracelet and my new Sloane Ranger Lobster wrap Bracelet.) Instantly! I knew she was a sweetheart. So as I was cashing out, we talked for a bit and I asked if they did anything for bloggers, and it just so happened that she was eagerly excited to help and she gave me a Seasonnaire tshirt and Newport Party Pants! I gave her my website and my name etc, and we exchanged instagrams (at the time I was still transitioning from @massachusettsprep to @thewickedprepoftheeast) That was the beginning of it all!
I literally could go on and on about how much Allie means to me and everything she has done for me, but that is not what this post is about.  It is about exposure for the phenomenal woman she is and the work she has accomplished.

Just going to list these off (and PLEASE, Allie if i miss something please let me know!)

Wicked Finds: New York Color Cosmetics

Bonjour mes amis!
So as you all know, makeup plays a very vital role in my life. I wear it everyday, although barely in the summer (mostly mascara and lipgloss unless I am going out at night) and I have A LOT of it.  That being said, shopping at Sephora and Ulta can leave hole burning in your purse.  I also hate paying Sephora/Ulta prices, and as long as I like a product, I don't care how cheap it is.  All of the products I bought came to $18, but seeing as they were BOGO, it came to only $13! UNBELIEVABLE!
(So sorry these photos were taken on my iPhone 5s since I didn't have my camera with me!)
I was browsing at CVS the other day, so I could find some new makeup remover and moisturizer, when I stumbled upon NYC Cosmetics (not to be confused with NYX). I have always bought their products like nail polish, liquid eyeliner, and some lipsticks for my majorette costumes, but I never thought anything of it until yesterday that their products were of high quality.

BOY WAS I WRONG. For one, CVS had a buy one get one 50% off for all NYC products, so instantly I was drawn. I chose lipsticks, bronzers, face primer, and nail polish. (Exact products to be described below).
This is NYC's $0.99 lip color in "Mahogany", which I felt was perfect for fall and sweater season. I have also been searching for the best "Lorde" look-a-like lipstick hue that would look good on me.  They have so many different colors in this product, and they are SO pigmented. I love it. It doesn't wear, and I lined my lips with some dark liner for definition.

This pinky lipstick is from their "Expert Last" collection in the color 405, or Blue Rose.  AH-MAZING.  Probably one of my favorite hues of lip color.  I never used to think that I could pull off these pinks, (I've always been more of a red/pink or red/brown/purpley if that makes sense) but boy does this color pop! And guess what? ONLY $3!

Glitter. Praise. After seeing everyone on insta with their robin egg manis, I decided to be a follower this once and purchase this! I saw New York Blues (left) and Disco Inferno (right). They have yet to chip and went on without a hassle, and in my opinion, are better than Essie.

Last but not least, I found the face primer and Sun n Bronze. Once again, so sad I just now realized the quality of NYC. The primer is fantastic, and I don't even notice it it is so light, and not heavy like other brands I have tried.  I always have a hard time with bronzer, because it is either to heavy, to dark or too light. However, this palette (Only $4!) has an array of hues so that when mixed together, you get the perfect combination for a freshly bronzed face! I picked out the palette in "Fair Island Tan".

I definitely suggest checking out NYC because it surprised me how well these products work at such a low cost!

Wicked Awesome College Necessities Intro

Bonjour mes amis!

As I pack for school, I have had such a hard time figuring out what to bring with me and how to decorate my dorm.  That being said, I figured that many of my college bound followers would have the same problem! To make it easier for everyone, I came up with my new college series, "Wicked Awesome College Necessities." This Series will be focusing on taking advantage of every inch of space that we are given, how to decorate/acessorize, study skills, socials, what to bring/not bring and dealing with your roomie(s).

Feel free to email me at thewickedprepoftheeast@gmail.com or comment below for ANY suggestions for this series, and I will put your name next to it, like a little shoutout!

Now, since I am a newbie/freshie myself, I know I don't have all of the answers. However, I HAVE spent my whole life (sans crib life) planning and decorating my bedroom at home, and had to deal with sharing my room with my sister, so I'd like to think that I have some experience.

Watch out for my first part of this series!
xoxo Alex
